Another true favourite and must have, Eucalyptus is natively from Australia. This well-known oil has been used for its properties as a germicide which helps fight infections and inflammation. It is perfect for burning in the home to clear the air and nasal passages. There are several hundred different species of Eucalyptus and around 500 of these produce essential oils. In the 1880s surgeons were using Eucalyptus as an antiseptic in operations and later it was used in most hospitals to clean urinary catheters.
